Limba Mokume Gane rings in 3 precious metals

The Limba rings, forged using the mokume gane technique by master goldsmith Markus Wiesner, are made from the precious metals yellow gold, palladium and silver. The surfaces of both Mokume Gane rings Limba were then etched and blasted with glass beads. A total of three of the precious metal layers are applied in 750 gold and beautifully break up the pattern. Around both rings, four of the familiar little stars or crosses can be seen, which are first visible on the inside of the rings during manufacture and are then applied to the outside in a few further steps. 

Differences in the width of mokume gane rings

If two people have very different tastes or wearing preferences, rings can be made in very different widths. Nevertheless, we manufacture both rings from one welded piece of mokume gane material. Although this increases the material costs slightly, both rings can be forged, rolled and structured from one piece. In addition to the emotional value, this has the advantage that the two rings are as similar as possible.

We consider the Guramá technique, which we devised especially for these special rings, to be one of the most harmonious ways of incorporating diamonds into your mokume gane wedding rings. Small and fine flawless diamonds with a full brilliant cut are worked into some of the mokume gane lines. For this pair of rings, the setting technique "cut setting", also known as thread setting, was used. However, the stones can also be set in a channel setting, which results in a greater sparkle of the diamonds. Although this is a little more complex, it visibly increases the fire of the stones.

Seamless production of mokume gane rings

Classic wedding rings are also usually made without a solder joint. In addition to the change in width due to stretching or compression of the rings, the main reason for this is the popular, beautiful symbolism of endlessness, which is embodied by the seamless rings.
