Blackened Damascus Steel Rings with Facets
The dark surface and the crisp facets define the character of these rings by Martin Steinhorst. The original design features four facets. They divide the ring’s surface and give the forged steel a distinctly angular appearance.
The dark surface is created in the fire
During the forging process, the steel reacts with oxygen, creating a scale that gives the ring its dark surface. This layer may wear away in places over time. As a result, the ring’s appearance changes, gradually revealing the traces of its daily life.
Solid inner band made of 925 silver
Inside is a continuous, seamless band made of 925 silver. It complements the dark steel with a light-colored precious metal. The term “seamless” here refers to the silver inner band.
Customize the width and facets
The ring width can be chosen freely. The facets can also be customized. This allows the basic design concept to be retained while tailoring the ring to the hand and the desired effect. Those who appreciate the dark forged surface should view its gradual change as an intentional part of this ring’s design.
