Three Precious Metals with a Rich Red Gold Play

For Boire , we use 585 red gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver. The red gold sets the warm overall tone, while palladium and silver introduce lighter and cooler lines into the grain pattern.

The different colors are not applied to the surface afterward. In our own goldsmith’s workshop, we build up the various layers of precious metals and permanently fuse them together into a solid Mokume-Gane layered material.

Only then is this material forged, rolled, and further processed. During this process, the different layers become visible and develop the grain pattern characteristic of Boire—comprising warm rose gold areas and lighter gray and silver lines.

The basic character of the pattern can be reproduced in a new piece. However, the exact course of the individual lines is recreated anew during the handcrafted process. This makes every pair of Boire rings one-of-a-kind.

Seamlessly forged

Boire is seamlessly forged from solid Mokume-Gane layered material. There is no solder joint where the grain pattern ends and must be reattached.

As a result, the pattern can unfold around the ring without any visible interruption. As you turn the ring on your finger, different sections of rose gold, palladium, and silver come into view—sometimes bolder and more expansive, and in other places finer and more defined by the lighter lines.

Diamonds as Strategic Accents

At Boire, too, diamonds can be strategically integrated into the existing grain pattern. The contrast between the warm 585 red gold, the lighter palladium and silver structures, and the brilliant sparkle of a diamond is particularly striking.

Options range from a single diamond to several small stones that follow a line within the Mokume-gane grain pattern. The gem setting can thus become part of the existing pattern, rather than appearing as an element added later.

The ring width can be selected between 4 and 10 mm. The existing design features a profile height of approximately 2 mm and a slightly arched ring profile.

Diamond settings can also be individually incorporated into the design. At the same time, the grain pattern of the rose gold, palladium, and silver develops anew with each new creation. This ensures that the Boire model remains recognizable, while no two pairs of rings look exactly alike.

Unique wedding rings for lovers of warm gold tones

Boire is designed especially for couples who love rose gold but aren’t looking for a classic, solid-color rose gold ring. The warm precious metal remains clearly visible, yet is repeatedly interrupted and redefined by palladium and silver.

This creates a different effect than that of predominantly light-colored Mokume-Gane designs. Boire appears warmer, more vibrant, and more colorful. At the same time, the cool gray and silver tones prevent the rose gold from dominating the entire surface.

Its special charm is particularly evident up close: wider, warm areas transition into finer lines, while light structures appear between the rose gold and then disappear again. With every turn of the ring, the pattern changes slightly.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop

For us, the creation of Boire begins with the Mokume-Gane layered material. Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner combines the prepared layers of 585 red gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver in our own goldsmith’s workshop and permanently fuses them together.

The visible grain pattern then emerges from this solid composite material through forging, rolling, and other targeted processes. During this process, the different precious metal layers are revealed, appearing on the surface as warm red gold areas, gray palladium sections, and light silver lines.

The pattern is therefore not applied to a finished ring. It emerges from the material itself and changes during the artisanal crafting process. This is precisely why a pair of Boire rings can be recreated with the same character, yet their specific grain pattern cannot be industrially replicated.
