Mokume Gane Kora Pendant – An Arch and a Triangle in One Shape

The Mokume Gane Kora Pendant combines two distinct basic geometric shapes. A gently curving arc transitions into a triangular shape. This design serves as the framework for the vibrant pattern of the layered metal composite.

The Mokume Gane element is crafted by master goldsmith and silversmith Markus Wiesner from 750 yellow gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver. The pattern is created through the artisanal working of the materials, which are welded together.

Japanese Forging Technique with Burl Wood Pattern

In the approximately 360-year-old Japanese Mokume Gane forging technique, layers of differently colored metals are welded together to form a solid composite. The characteristic patterns are created through subsequent forging, rolling, and precise chasing.

The Kora pendant features a vibrant burl wood-like texture. Warm yellow-gold tones alternate with gray palladium and light silver. The pattern does not follow an industrially predetermined repetition but is created anew with each piece of jewelry.

Geometric pendant, 30 mm long

Measuring 30 mm in length and 19 mm in width, the Kora pendant has a clearly visible yet understated design.

The surface is finished with a glass-matte texture, which highlights the different metal colors and the fine lines of the Mokume Gane pattern.

The combination of arcs and triangles gives the pendant a distinctive character that sets it apart from the round or elongated pieces in the other collections.

Silver base with rhodium plating

The forged Mokume Gane element sits on a supporting base made of 925 silver. This base is electroplated with rhodium to protect the silver from tarnishing.

The pendant comes with a round omega necklace made of 925 silver with a screw-on bail. You can select your desired necklace length from the available options.
