It can be found in millions of facets in the nature surrounding us. If you only look. In the creation of beauty, it can give inspiration in many ways. Whether intuitively, or according to natural rules, such as the golden section, or the Fibonacci series. Within these regularities, which are evident in nature, nevertheless small and large deviations exist, which come about through the most diverse influences. Each leaf of a tree resembles the other. Only on closer inspection do the differences reveal themselves. The growth of the wood, its color, as well as its hardness, are recognizable depending on the tree species.

Nevertheless, the patterns formed differ within their species, even within one tree. As it grows to its full size, a variety of influences affect its growth. Trees stand next to it. Their branches reach over. The ground is straight or sloping, rocky or humus-like. The climate is warm, cold, humid or dry depending on the location. Philosophie von Wiesner - Die Goldshcmiede #2

Markus and Michael Wiesner started working in their parents' company around the year 2000. Even then, wedding rings played a central role in the range of products offered by the Wiesner jewelry studio, which was founded in 1982.

The trend was for wedding rings, in predominantly white, or gray colors, like those of white gold, or platinum. The shapes of trendy rings were mostly angular, their profile flat. "In our opinion, an inappropriate symbolism for the love of two people." The desire and search for a completely different wedding ring style was formulated. "In 2006, we first read about the Mokume Gane, and the unique jewelry and rings created from it, in a technical article.

We took a quick look. In seconds it was clear what we had been looking for." Hansruedi Spillmann, a self-taught Mokume Gane goldsmith from Switzerland, offered a course on this forging technique.

The handcrafted production with roller and hammer gives the Mokume Gane rings as well as the jewelry pieces, moreover, a not identically repeatable character, which is particularly appreciated with Mokume Gane wedding rings, as well as with engagement rings. Even the rings of a single pair of wedding rings, made from one piece of Mokume Gane, are merely similar, but never identical.

Markus Wiesner, already a master goldsmith and silversmith at the time, learned the basics of this challenging forging technique from him. With great enthusiasm at work, completely new, previously unknown pieces of jewelry and wedding rings with the most diverse patterns were created. From very wild, to gentle and wood-like structures. Especially through the possibility of combining colors, layer numbers and a variety of patterns, unique one-of-a-kind pieces are created again and again. Quite individually these possibilities of influence are tuned to the desires and the taste of each jewelry wearer.
