Afzelia – Three-tone Mokume Gane rings with a delicate gold line made of palladium, silver, and rose gold
- Order number: Ringe.Afzelia
- >: Three-tone · delicate gold line · vibrant palladium-silver grain pattern. Afzelia combines a light, finely detailed Mokume-Gane structure with a warm gold accent—extraordinary wedding rings whose delicate line is repeatedly highlighted by the organic grain pattern.
- >: Afzelia is custom-made just for you. You can choose a ring width ranging from 4 to 10 mm. Diamonds can be incorporated as a delicate line along the grain or as strategically placed individual stones.
Afzelia thrives on a subtle contrast: A single warm line of 585 red gold emerges from the light, lively, flowing grain of palladium and silver. It winds through the pattern, disappearing in places among the lighter structures and reemerging clearly in others.
As a result, these Mokume Gane rings appear calm and light from a distance, while up close, new details continually reveal themselves. The red gold line adds a warm accent without overshadowing the natural pattern of the Mokume Gane.
Afzelia is thus a special option for couples seeking extraordinary wedding rings with a predominantly light color scheme but who also desire a deliberately incorporated warm precious metal tone.
Three Precious Metals – Light Grain with a Delicate Rose Gold Line
For Afzelia, we use 500 palladium, 925 silver, and 585 rose gold. Palladium and silver define the rings’ light base tone. The rose gold adds a delicate, warm line to the pattern and gives Afzelia its unmistakable character.
The colors are not applied afterward. In our own goldsmith’s workshop, we fuse the prepared precious metal layers ourselves into a solid Mokume-Gane layered material. This material is then forged and carefully refined until the various layers become visible as lines and organic structures.
The rose gold line is therefore not merely a decorative element on the ring. It is an integral part of the material structure and follows the grain pattern created during the forging process. Its exact course changes with each new piece—giving every pair of Afzelia rings its own unique pattern.
Seamlessly Forged
Afzelia is seamlessly forged from solid Mokume-Gane layered material. There is no solder joint where the grain pattern ends or must be visibly rejoined.
As a result, the lines can flow continuously around the ring without any artificial interruptions. This is particularly appealing in Afzelia: the delicate line of 585 red gold accompanies the lighter palladium-silver grain and appears in a slightly different form each time the ring is turned.
Diamonds as a Deliberate Accent
With Afzelia, diamonds can be integrated directly into the existing grain pattern. A row of small brilliant-cut diamonds following a curved line in the Mokume-gane grain pattern creates a particularly delicate effect.
The diamond lines offered feature round brilliant-cut diamonds approximately 1 mm in size. Depending on the ring width, the designs offered feature approximately 10 diamonds for a 4 mm width, 12 for 5 mm, 15 for 6 mm, 17 for 7 mm, and 20 for 8 mm.
Alternatively, individual diamonds can be strategically placed within the grain pattern. This allows Afzelia to be designed in a very understated manner or to be made to shine more brightly with a delicate line of diamonds, without overshadowing the characteristic Mokume-Gane pattern.
Custom-Made for You
The pair of Afzelia rings shown here serves as an example of this model’s character. Your own Mokume Gane rings will be newly crafted for you. As a result, the grain pattern—with its delicate rose gold line—will also take on a new form and cannot be copied exactly.
You can choose a ring width between 4 and 10 mm. The diamond setting can also be designed as a fine line or with individual stones, depending on the available options.
This preserves the basic concept of Afzelia, while the proportions, grain pattern, and diamond accents can be tailored to your personal pair of rings.

Extraordinary wedding rings for lovers of subtle contrasts
Afzelia is an appealing choice for couples who find a pure palladium-silver combination a bit too cool, but who also don’t want Mokume Gane rings with a strong gold accent. The single line of 585 red gold creates exactly this middle ground.
It brings warmth to the light grain without dominating it. At times, it appears as nothing more than a narrow thread between the palladium and silver; at other times, it stands out more clearly. It is precisely this interplay that gives Afzelia its special depth.
Compared to Mokume Gane designs with higher gold content, the overall effect remains lighter and more understated. Its uniqueness is revealed upon closer inspection—in the subtle transitions, the flow of the lines, and the way the warm red gold trail moves through the organic pattern.
For couples who define extraordinary wedding rings not by size or flashy colors, but by artisanal details and a unique grain, Afzelia is therefore a particularly exquisite option.
Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop
Afzelia doesn’t start in our workshop with a pre-purchased mokume-gane blank. Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner builds the layered material himself from 500 palladium, 925 silver, and 585 rose gold, and permanently fuses the prepared precious metal layers together in our goldsmith’s workshop.
The visible grain pattern then emerges from this solid composite material through forging and further precise processing. During this process, the layer of 585 rose gold is exposed and appears as a distinctive warm line within the lighter structures of palladium and silver.
The fundamental character of Afzelia can be recreated in a new piece. However, the exact lines cannot be reproduced industrially. This is why two complementary rings are created, whose grain patterns are related to one another without being identical copies of each other.
You can find additional color effects, patterns, and precious metal combinations in our Mokume Gane rings and exceptional wedding bands.
