Three precious metals—yellow gold, palladium, and silver
For Andira, we use 750 yellow gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver. The warm yellow gold contrasts with the cooler gray of the palladium and the noticeably lighter silver.
It is precisely this contrast in the tones of the precious metals that defines Andira. While yellow gold and palladium set the overall tone, the silver creates a bright, clearly distinguishable line within the pattern.
The colors and lines are not applied to the surface afterward. In our goldsmith’s workshop, the different layers of precious metal are welded together to form the solid Mokume-Gane layered material. It is only through the subsequent handcrafted finishing that the characteristic grain pattern emerges.
With each newly crafted pair of rings, this pattern unfolds slightly differently. The typical character of Andira remains recognizable—yet the individual line carves its own path through the ring.
The Silver Line—Andira’s Distinctive Feature
The most striking design feature of Andira is the light-colored line of 925 silver. It stands out clearly against the warm yellow gold and the darker palladium, adding movement to the pattern.
This line can be customized in the design process. Additional silver lines are also possible. This allows you to alter the ring’s effect: from a single light accent to a Mokume-Gane grain more strongly defined by silver.
This is precisely where an interesting opportunity for customization lies. It is not an added ornament that changes Andira, but the structure of the Mokume-Gane material itself.
Seamlessly forged—with no beginning and no end
Andira is forged seamlessly from solid layered Mokume-Gane material. There is no solder joint where the grain would be visibly interrupted.
This allows the lines of the various precious metals to flow continuously around the ring. The characteristic silver line, in particular, takes on a natural, uninterrupted flow.
In the case of a wedding ring, this manufacturing method also carries a beautiful emotional significance: The closed ring has no beginning and no end and has always symbolized the lasting bond between two people. In our seamlessly forged Mokume Gane rings, this idea is directly reflected in their artisanal craftsmanship.

The Andira pair shown here is a completed piece and serves as an example of this model’s character. Your own rings will be newly crafted just for you. As a result, your pair of rings will develop its own unique grain pattern.
Andira can be crafted in ring widths ranging from 4 to 10 mm. The width also affects the appearance of the pattern: on a wider surface, the grain has more room to unfold, while on narrower rings it appears more concentrated.
The characteristic silver line can also be incorporated into the custom design. Additional silver lines can be added, thereby altering both the contrast and the rhythm of the pattern.

Andira is particularly well-suited for couples who find that a classic Mokume-Gane grain pattern alone is not enough. The light silver line adds a clearly recognizable accent to the pattern without overshadowing the natural effect of the forged structure.
The interplay of the three precious metals is particularly fascinating. The yellow gold brings warmth to the ring, palladium provides a cooler contrast, and the silver runs as a light accent through both color areas.
Depending on how the line develops during the forging process, it may appear calmer at times and more dynamic at others. It is precisely this unpredictable development that defines the character of Mokume Gane.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop
Andira is created entirely in our own goldsmith’s workshop. Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner does not work with a pre-purchased Mokume Gane blank.
The individual layers of precious metal are prepared and fused together to form the Mokume-Gane layered material. Through forging, rolling, and further precise craftsmanship, Markus Wiesner then develops the characteristic Andira grain pattern.
The basic structure and effect of the pattern can be designed. However, the exact course of each individual line only emerges during the handcrafted process. That is why a new pair can be clearly recognizable as Andira without being an exact copy of the ring pair shown.
