Although 585 rose gold naturally has a distinctly warm color, it does not dominate the design over large areas here. Rather, it appears as a subtle reddish accent between the palladium and silver, lending the pattern additional depth.

Three precious metals with a subtle rose gold accent
For Azobe, we use 585 rose gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver. The warm rose gold contrasts with the lighter silver and gray palladium areas.
The colors are not applied afterward. In our own goldsmith’s workshop, the different precious metal layers are welded together to form a solid Mokume-Gane laminate. Through forging and targeted further processing, different areas of the individual layers are then revealed.
In this way, the colors and the unique grain emerge directly from the material itself. This echoes the fundamental design concept of Azobe—the exact pattern of its lines varies with every new pair of rings crafted.
Four stars between clean lines and wild grain
A distinctive feature of Azobe is the four stars encircling the band. Within the pattern, gray areas made of palladium alternate with light areas made of silver.
The design is made intriguing by the contrast with the surrounding grain: while the stars give the ring a recurring rhythm, a much freer Mokume-Gane structure develops in between.
As a result, Azobe appears neither strictly geometric nor exclusively organic. It is precisely the interplay of these two design worlds that defines the character of this model.
Seamlessly forged
Azobe is forged seamlessly from solid Mokume-Gane layered material. There is no solder joint to interrupt the pattern. The patterns and precious metal lines can continue around the ring without a visible seam.
This manufacturing method is not only appealing from a craftsmanship perspective when it comes to a wedding ring. The closed ring has no visible beginning or end, thus echoing the traditional symbolism of the wedding ring as a sign of a lasting union.
Diamonds as a Deliberate Accent
Azobe’s star pattern offers a particularly beautiful way to incorporate diamonds into the existing design. Individual stones can be placed at the centers of the stars, thereby emphasizing a motif that is already present in the Mokume-gane pattern.
Alternatively, entire rows of small brilliant-cut diamonds can be integrated into the design. The diamond setting can thus range from a single, subtle point of light to a much more prominently featured design.

The ring width can be selected between 4 and 10 mm. The documented ring profile is slightly domed on both the inside and outside.

Azobe is particularly appealing to couples who like rose gold but aren’t looking for a ring whose appearance is entirely defined by this warm hue.
Here, the rose gold appears much more subtle between the palladium and silver. It complements the grain as a warm accent, while the four stars in the vibrant pattern create a recurring rhythm.
From a distance, the tri-colored surface appears harmonious. Only upon closer inspection do you discover the shifting star patterns and the delicate rose gold lines. As a result, Azobe does not reveal all its unique features at first glance.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop
We produce the Mokume Gane layered material for Azobe ourselves in our goldsmith’s workshop. The layers of 585 red gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver are welded together and then forged and further refined.
Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner uses this material to create the characteristic Azobe pattern with its four stars and the vibrant grain in between. While the basic design concept can be deliberately influenced, the exact course of each individual line is constantly redefined during the artisanal crafting process.
Azobe is therefore not an industrially reproduced surface design. Each newly crafted pair of rings has its own unique pattern and yet remains unmistakably part of this design concept.
