Two precious metals with bold patterns

For Camaru, we use 500 palladium and 925 silver. Compared to finely layered Mokume-Gane models, we deliberately work with thicker layers of precious metals in a reduced number for Camaru. This results in broader lines and distinctly pronounced pattern areas.

We produce the Mokume-Gane layering material ourselves in our goldsmith’s workshop. The prepared layers of palladium and silver are permanently fused together and then forged, rolled, twisted, and further processed.

Through twisting and further processing, the individual layers alter their course. The darker palladium lines condense and open up in such a way that the star-like structures typical of Camaru emerge within the flowing grain. They are neither engraved nor applied to the surface afterward, but develop directly from the bonded layered material.

The characteristic Camaru style can be recreated in a new piece. However, the exact course of the lines and the distinctiveness of the star-like areas are newly formed during the artisanal crafting process. This makes every pair of rings one-of-a-kind.

Seamlessly forged

Camaru is seamlessly forged from solid Mokume-Gane layered material. There is no solder joint where the pattern ends and must be restarted.

This allows the star-like structures and the lines in between to develop all the way around the entire ring. As you turn the ring on your finger, different sections of the grain are revealed.

This seamless construction is particularly appealing given Camaru’s bold design: The surface has no artificially defined “front” side, but instead displays the pattern developed from the layered material all around.

Diamonds as a Deliberate Accent

In the Camaru design currently on display, the Mokume-Gane pattern itself takes center stage. There is no record of specific diamond setting for this pair of rings.

Therefore, in this description, Camaru deliberately focuses on its two precious metals and its striking star-like grain. The bold grain pattern requires no additional gemstone setting to make its full impact.

The version shown has a band width of 8.5 mm and a profile height of 2.5 mm. This generous width gives the bold lines and the resulting star-like structures plenty of room to shine.

A narrower version is certainly possible. This allows Camaru to be proportioned more subtly without losing its characteristic essence.

The ring profile is slightly arched. The proportions that work best for your personal pair of rings can be tailored to the desired effect during the custom manufacturing process.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop

For us, the production of Camaru begins with the construction of the Mokume-Gane layered material. Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner fuses layers of 500 palladium and 925 silver in our own goldsmith’s workshop to form a solid composite material.

Through forging, rolling, twisting, and other targeted processes, the characteristic Camaru grain pattern emerges. The darker palladium lines change their course, forming the typical star-like patterns within the lighter silver structure.

The pattern is therefore not a surface design created after the fact. It is inherent in the structure of the ring material itself. Where a palladium line widens, where it converges with other lines, and how distinctly a star-like shape emerges—all of this takes shape as we work on each individual pair of rings.

As a result, Camaru remains recognizable as a design, even though no two pairs of rings look exactly alike.
