Product information "Maniu – Two-Tone Mokume Gane Rings with Natural Wood Grain, Made of Palladium and Silver"

Maniu is one of our light-colored, two-tone Mokume Gane rings. Palladium and silver combine to create a vibrant grain pattern of varying shades of gray and silver.

It is precisely the interplay of these two light-colored precious metals that allows the fine lines of the pattern to stand out clearly without creating stark color contrasts. As a result, Maniu has a unique look, yet is more understated than our multicolored Mokume Gane models featuring yellow or red gold.

Two precious metals—a delicate, light color effect

For Maniu, we use 500 palladium and 925 silver. The various shades of gray and silver are not applied afterward; they arise from the interlinked layers of precious metals in the Mokume Gane material.

During the forging and shaping process, these layers transform and form the characteristic grain pattern. Depending on the pattern’s flow, individual lines and areas stand out with varying degrees of clarity. That is why the pattern of a Maniu ring pair can never be exactly replicated.

Every pair of Maniu rings is truly one-of-a-kind.

You can learn more about one of the two precious metals used in our guide to silver.

Seamlessly Forged

Maniu is forged seamlessly in our goldsmith’s workshop. This means there is no solder joint to interrupt the grain pattern. The pattern can continue around the entire ring without a visible beginning or end.

The rings are crafted from solid Mokume Gane layered material. The visible pattern is thus an integral part of the ring itself and not a decoration applied afterward or a thin, soldered-on layer.

Diamonds as a Deliberate Accent

Upon request, Maniu can be enhanced with diamonds. Individual diamonds or delicate lines of diamonds can be strategically integrated into the design, creating an additional contrast to the light-colored Mokume Gane grain.

We coordinate the stone setting with the flow of the respective pattern so that the rings’ characteristic grain remains visible.

Custom-Made for You

The pair of rings shown here is the Maniu model and serves as an example of the grain and color effect. Your rings will be newly crafted just for you. As a result, your pair of rings will also develop its own unique pattern during the forging process.

The ring width and diamond setting can be customized to your preferences. This allows you to tailor the character of the Maniu design—from more understated to distinctly bold—without altering the signature combination of palladium and silver.

Extraordinary wedding rings for lovers of light-colored Mokume Gane patterns

Maniu is particularly appealing to couples seeking extraordinary wedding rings who prefer to avoid warm gold tones. Palladium and silver create a light, predominantly gray-silver color effect that highlights the grain pattern.

Compared to three- or four-color Mokume Gane rings, Maniu has a more subdued appearance. Its distinctive character stems less from stark color contrasts than from the interplay of the two light-colored precious metals and the unique flow of their lines.

Thus, Maniu combines the organic effect of Mokume Gane with a comparatively subdued color palette—for couples who prefer an extraordinary pattern without choosing a multicolored ring.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop

Maniu is individually crafted in our goldsmith’s workshop. Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner has been crafting Mokume Gane rings for many years and develops the characteristic grain of each pair of rings from the intertwined precious metals.

You will therefore not receive an industrially reproduced pattern, but rather two rings crafted individually for you, whose design emerges during the handcrafted process.
