Movingu thrives on the interplay of two very different design worlds. A bold Mokume-Gane grain pattern of palladium and silver meets a serene section of warm 750 yellow gold. The two elements do not meet along a straight line, but rather along a gently curved seam.
This undulating movement echoes the natural flow of the Mokume-Gane pattern. The yellow gold serves as a warm counterpoint to the light and gray lines of palladium and silver. Depending on the angle from which it is viewed, either the grain or the curved gold surface stands out more prominently.
The result is Mokume Gane rings with an unusually clear structure— extraordinary wedding bands for couples who wish to combine a vibrant, hand-forged grain with a calm, classic gold accent.
Three Precious Metals—Vibrant Grain Meets Warm Yellow Gold
For Movingu, we use 500 palladium, 925 silver, and 750 yellow gold. Palladium and silver form the grained Mokume Gane section. Alongside this, the yellow gold creates a clearly visible contrast with its warm hue.
We produce the layered Mokume-Gane material ourselves in our goldsmith’s workshop. The different precious metal layers of palladium and silver are permanently fused together and then forged and further processed. It is only through this process that the visible grain pattern develops.
The light and gray lines are therefore not a decoration applied afterward. They arise directly from the material itself. Their pattern can be influenced by handcrafting but cannot be replicated industrially with exact precision—each newly crafted pair of rings develops its own unique pattern.
Seamlessly Forged
Movingu’s Mokume-Gane collection is crafted from solid layered material and forged seamlessly. No solder joint interrupts the grain pattern.
This allows the pattern of palladium and silver to flow around the ring without any visible seam. Especially for a wedding ring, this seamless manufacturing process beautifully embodies the idea of a ring with no visible beginning or end.
Diamonds as a Deliberate Accent
On the women’s ring, the curved junction between the Mokume Gane and yellow gold can be accentuated with a row of diamonds. For the design shown here, depending on the ring size, approximately 30 to 38 diamonds are used , each weighing 0.03 ct, TW, луpe-clean, and 2.0 mm in diameter.
The diamonds are set in a channel setting and follow the undulating curve between the two sections of the ring. This ensures that the row of stones does not appear detached from the pattern—rather, their sparkle precisely accompanies the line that defines the character of Movingu.
Those who prefer a more understated diamond setting can have the curved groove set with diamonds only partially.
Custom-made for you
The pair of Movingu rings shown here is a previously crafted example. Your own rings will be newly crafted just for you; in the process, the Mokume-Gane grain pattern—composed of palladium and silver—is recreated anew and takes on its own unique pattern.
The ring width can be chosen between 7 and 10 mm. The documented profile height is 2.5 mm, and the ring profile is slightly domed. Depending on the selected total width, the plain yellow gold section will be approximately 2 to 3 mm wide.
For the women’s ring, you can also choose whether the curved groove should be set with diamonds completely or only partially.

Extraordinary wedding rings for lovers of striking contrasts
Movingu differs significantly from Mokume-Gane models, in which the grain pattern defines the entire visible width of the ring. Here, the lively pattern is paired with a serene counterpart: a clean surface of warm yellow gold.
It is precisely this contrast that makes the design so intriguing. Palladium and silver introduce movement and subtle shifts in brightness to the surface, while the yellow gold lends the ring warmth and visual tranquility. The curved joint ensures that both elements still appear to belong together naturally.
The effect changes yet again with diamonds. The wavy line becomes a luminous transition between gold and Mokume Gane; without diamonds—or with only a few—the contrast between the materials remains more prominent.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop
With Movingu, too, the design process does not begin with a ready-made Mokume Gane blank purchased from a supplier. Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner creates the layered material—composed of palladium and silver—himself in our goldsmith’s workshop.
The precious metal layers are welded together and then forged and meticulously refined. This process gives rise to the unique grain pattern, which is later combined with the simple 750 yellow gold element to create the characteristic Movingu design.
The flow of the lines can be guided by the artisan’s skill, but it always remains unique. Movingu is therefore not an industrially reproduced surface decoration, but a pair of rings whose pattern emerges during the manufacturing process.

How Movingu Mokume Gane Rings Are Made
From the rough ring blank to the finished wedding ring, Movingu rings are crafted step by step in our goldsmith’s workshop. The following workshop photos show the actual creation of this pair of rings—not a staged scene, but genuine goldsmithing.
It’s particularly fascinating to see how the characteristic grain is brought out from the layered Mokume Gane material and how the 750 yellow gold section is ultimately joined with the grained ring body to create the design typical of Movingu.
From the Mokume-Gane blank to the Movingu wedding ring
Step 1 – The Mokume-Gane Blanks
At this stage, the final form is still only hinted at. The solid structure and the already visible layers form the basis for the unique grain patterns of the Movingu rings.
Step 2 – Shape & Size
The still-rough Mokume-Gane ring is further shaped and sized. Step by step, the actual ring body takes shape from the solid layered material.
Step 3 – The Grain Becomes Visible
After further shaping, the layered structure becomes clearly visible. Even at this stage, it’s evident that no two rings will be exactly alike. The side lines are already visible here as well.
Step 4 – Working with Fire
Heat is an integral part of traditional goldsmithing. The rings are heated many times during the crafting process.
Step 5 – Mokume Gane and Yellow Gold
Here, the two design elements are still separated and placed side by side: the grained ring bodies and the prepared yellow gold elements. These are then combined to create the characteristic Movingu design.
Step 6 – The Elements Come Together
The Mokume Gane section and the yellow gold are brought together to form the distinctive Movingu shape. The ring’s eventual division into two parts is already clearly visible at this stage.
Step 7 – The Design Takes Shape
Movingu is now unmistakable: the vibrant Mokume-Gane grain meets the calm, warm gold section. The final surface finish is still pending, as is the diamond setting on the women’s ring.
Step 8 – The Pair of Rings Before Setting
The ring bands have been finished, and the surfaces already display the characteristic look of Mokume Gane and yellow gold. For the women’s ring, the jeweler’s work now begins.
The Diamond Row – Handcrafting by the Gem Setter
The Movingu women’s ring now undergoes another technically demanding step. The diamonds aren’t simply placed on the finished ring. First, their alignment along the curved band is prepared; then, the individual settings are crafted, and the stones are set one by one.
The following photos show this work in extraordinary detail. It is precisely here that one can see just how much precision goes into a diamond line that appears to run so effortlessly around the ring.
Step 1 – Preparation
The future diamond line is precisely marked out on the ring.
Step 2 – Determining Positions
The spacing of the future stones is carefully marked on the ring.
Step 3 – The Line Takes Shape
Precise machining begins along the designated positions to create the future diamond settings.
Step 4 – Finishing the Settings
Each individual spot for a diamond is prepared using fine tools.
Step 5 – Interim Inspection
The stones are placed in the milled recesses for a final check of the spacing and layout.
Step 6 – Milling the Channel
The channel for the subsequent channel framing is milled by hand here.
Step 7 – The Channel Setting Becomes Visible
The channel for the diamonds is taking shape. The continuous line along the border between yellow gold and Mokume Gane is now complete.
Step 8 – Finishing
The channel where the diamonds will later be set is polished.
Step 9 – Stone by Stone
The diamonds are set one by one and aligned along the curved line.
Step 10 – The Diamond Line Closes
Diamond by diamond is now set into the prepared settings.
Step 11 – A Preliminary Result
The set diamonds follow the distinctive line of the Movingu Ring. Mokume-gane grain, yellow gold, and diamonds thus come together to form a unified design.
