A special custom design version of the Iroko wedding rings - extraordinary
A new pair of wedding rings is created in the workshop of master goldsmith Markus Wiesner. Hand-forged using the Japanese forging technique Mokume Gane.
The Special thing about this pair of wedding rings - It should have a structure that lies between the rings with 11 layers and the rings with 19 layers. There must therefore be approx. 15 layers. To achieve this, master goldsmith Markus Wiesner makes some adjustments when preparing the base material. The layer thicknesses must be adapted to the changed number of precious metal sheets. The same applies to the widths and lengths.
This also changes the behavior of the mokume gane material during rolling and forging, both in terms of expansion in width and length. We are very curious to see how the precious metal will behave.
The pictures on the right are only an indication. The first production images will be available in the next few days.
Best regards, Michael Wiesner

Production process Iroko Mokume Gane - Exceptional wedding rings
1) The mokume gane ingot is welded ready.
This is where the actual production of the Mokume Gane wedding rings begins.
2) The Mokume Gane ingot has been forged out a little
Piece by piece, the Mokume Gane ingot is forged smaller so that it can then be rolled.
3) Rolled to length and twisted. The mokume gane pattern
To produce the primary pattern of the mokume gane wedding rings, the rolled strand is twisted. A little more or less depending on the desired pattern.
4) Marking the center line for the saw cuts
5) Mokume Gane material - drilled and sawn
In order to obtain NAHTLOS rings, holes must be drilled, which are connected with a saw cut. Once for the women's ring and once for the men's ring.
6) Expanding the mokume gane rings
The holes are gradually expanded to form round rings.
7) They become rounder and rounder - This is how the mokume gane rings slowly grow.
The mokume gane rings are forged into a round ring on the so-called ring bar. In between, as with all the previous steps, the material must be annealed again and again.
8) The transitions were forged in
As the mokume gane rings are manufactured using the NAHTLOS process, there are still notches on the inside rivet and two protrusions on the outside after splicing and round forging. These have now been forged in here.
