Mokume Gane Kokoro Jewelry Ring – a heart that nestles around your finger

The Kokoro ring is part of the Mokume Silver collection designed by Michael Wiesner. Its distinctive feature is the pronounced, asymmetrical heart shape. Unlike a ring with a separate heart element, the design here is integrated into the sturdy silver band and wraps around the finger.

Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner crafts the heart-shaped Mokume Gane element in our workshop in Beilstein. He combines 750 yellow gold, 500 palladium, and 925 silver into a layered metal composite, from which the unique pattern is carved.

Three-Tone Mokume Gane with Burl Wood Pattern

The Japanese Mokume Gane forging technique makes it possible to permanently bond precious metals of different colors. The characteristic patterns, reminiscent of wood grain, are created through subsequent forging, rolling, and precise shaping of the layers.

In the Kokoro jewelry ring, warm yellow gold, gray palladium, and light silver alternate. The pattern follows the contours of the heart and is unique to each ring. As a result, every piece of jewelry has its own surface texture.

An expressive ring featuring a 22 × 18 mm heart

The Mokume Gane top section measures 22 × 18 mm. With a height of about 7.5 mm above the finger, the ring has a distinctly pronounced shape.

The sturdy band, crafted from 925 silver, continues the curved design of the heart. It is 2 mm thick at the bottom and on the sides. The shape was designed so that the ring sits comfortably on the finger despite its striking top section.

Satin-finished surface and rhodium-plated silver band

The Mokume Gane heart features a glass-matte finish that allows the various precious metal colors and pattern lines to remain clearly visible.

The silver band is given a fine matte finish and then electroplated with rhodium. The rhodium layer protects the silver from tarnishing. It may gradually wear off with wear and can be renewed at our goldsmith’s workshop if necessary.

Ring Size and Personalized Engraving

The Kokoro jewelry ring is available in sizes with an inner circumference ranging from 50 to 70 mm. Using the options provided, you can also specify a personalized engraving, including the font and engraving text.
