Mokume Gane Funa Interchangeable Clasp – Slim Shape, Vibrant Grain

The Mokume Gane Funa Interchangeable Clasp combines an elongated, gently curved shape with the unique grain patterns of palladium and silver. The light and gray metallic lines give this jewelry piece a subtle color effect that pairs particularly well with white pearls and dark gemstone necklaces.

Funa is part of our Mokume Silver jewelry collection. The deliberately simple design leaves plenty of room for the hand-forged metal pattern to shine. As a visible clasp, Funa can be worn at the front of a necklace, where it also serves as a pendant.

Two-tone Mokume Gane made of palladium and silver

Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner crafts the patterned top section from 500 palladium and 925 silver. Multiple layers of the two precious metals are permanently fused together and then forged and patterned.

This process creates the characteristic lines of the Japanese Mokume Gane technique, reminiscent of wood grain. The pattern is embedded directly within the metal composite and is not an applied coating.

Each Funa clasp features its own unique pattern. The flow of the lines and the distribution of the metal colors vary from piece to piece.

25 × 10 mm – a slender jewelry clasp

With a length of 25 mm and a width of 10 mm, Funa has an elongated shape. This version is crafted without diamonds. The focus is on the two-tone grain pattern of palladium and silver.

The back is made of 500 palladium. The surface of the patterned jewelry element has a glass-matte finish or a brushed matte finish.

Interchangeable mechanism for pearl and gemstone necklaces

Ball-head clasp mechanisms, invisible from the front, are integrated on the sides. With matching counterparts, Funa can be used with appropriately equipped pearl or gemstone necklaces.

With compatible clasp systems, the jewelry element can be swapped between different necklaces. For example, the same Mokume Gane clasp can be combined with a light-colored pearl necklace or a dark onyx necklace.

Handcrafted in our goldsmith’s workshop

The Funa Mokume Gane interchangeable clasp is crafted in our workshop in Beilstein. The combination of Japanese forging techniques, clean lines, and unique patterns makes it a distinctive jewelry clasp.
