Mokume Gane Kora Interchangeable Clasp with 26 Diamonds

The Mokume Gane Kora Interchangeable Clasp combines the distinctive shield-shaped design of our Kora collection with a two-tone precious metal grain pattern and 26 small diamonds. The brilliant-cut diamonds add sparkling accents along the hand-forged pattern without obscuring its vibrant design.

As the visible clasp of a pearl or gemstone necklace, Kora serves two purposes: it connects the ends of the chain and simultaneously functions as a standalone piece of jewelry.

Hand-forged Mokume Gane made of palladium and silver

Master goldsmith Markus Wiesner crafts the decorative top section from 500 palladium and 925 silver. The differently colored precious metal layers are permanently bonded together through fire welding and then forged, patterned, and rolled.

This process creates the lines and structures typical of Mokume Gane, which are reminiscent of natural wood grain. The contrast between silver and palladium highlights the unique pattern.

Since the grain pattern develops during the handcrafted process, no two Kora clasps are exactly alike.

26 Diamonds to Complement the Grain

The Kora interchangeable clasp is set with 26 brilliant-cut diamonds. The total weight of the stones is 0.09 carats. The diamonds are Top Wesselton, loupe-clean (TW/Lr).

The small brilliant-cut diamonds create a deliberate contrast to the matte, vividly patterned Mokume-Gane surface. Their light reflections complement the understated gray and silver tones of the precious metal composite.

Interchangeable clasp mechanism for pearl and gemstone necklaces

Ball-head clasp mechanisms are integrated into the sides of the clasp. This allows Kora to be attached to appropriately equipped pearl or gemstone necklaces and, if necessary, exchanged for another compatible clasp.

The jewelry element can thus be combined with different necklaces, provided they have a compatible clasp system.

A pearl or gemstone necklace is not included in the price.

Mokume Gane jewelry from our goldsmith’s workshop
