Garapa men bracelet in Japanese forging technique Mokume Gane

The Garapa men's bracelet, hand-forged by master goldsmith Markus Wiesner, fascinates with its wild wood-like structure, which is created half purposefully, half by chance. For this purpose, Markus Wiesner welds together a large number of precious metal pallets, which in the process combine with each other under great heat. This process is called diffusion welding and can be carried out either in a fire or specifically in a suitable furnace with temperature control. The closer you get to the melting point of the materials, the better and stronger the bond. A few degrees too much, on the other hand, will spoil everything and an unsightly lump of various precious metals will be formed, which can only be recycled.

After this welding process, which requires some experience, the layered material is forged and rolled until it reaches the thickness required for sampling. The patterns are then prepared by processes such as twisting, milling and chiselling, which only become clear and final during the subsequent forging process. The result is a unique piece - each bracelet is unique.

• Back: 1 mm palladium/500 layer prevents silver oxides on the arm

Diamonds in Mokume Gane men bracelet

The Garapa men's bracelet can optionally be made with fine lines of diamonds. In this case, diamonds with 0.005 carat Top Wesselton Lupenrein (diameter approx. 1 mm) are worked into the lines of the Mokume Gane by our jewel setters. In the bracelet shown here, a cut setting was used for this purpose. However, a channel setting can also be worked out, as for example with the Mokume Gane rings Abura.
