Rings in Faro Mokume Gane. Delicate and fine pattern

Faro rings, hand-forged in the classic Japanese forging technique, Mokume Gane, combine the wild pattern of Mokume Gane with the simple restraint of white precious metals. Palladium 500 and silver 925 combine in a multitude of thin layers to create a pair of wedding rings that is always unobtrusive and understated with its lightness and delicacy. The large number of fine layers of this pair of Mokume Gane wedding rings form the basis for their fine drawing.

By combining layers of precious metals of different thicknesses, each of which meanders through the rings in a compound, the Faro rings are given a very extraordinarily delicate pattern. With six asterisks, which appear fine and delicate due to the special way this model series is made, this pattern shows a very special drawing. The fine lines are lined by wild swirls that appear again and again, always where the two rings in the basic material of the mokume gane had once grown together. One of these spots can be observed very nicely at the upper edge of the lower ring in the foreground of the picture.

Mokume Gane rings with etching | 3-dimensional effect

For all Mokume Gane wedding rings that are made using silver, the silver can be slightly reduced on the surface afterwards by etching. This produces a 3-dimensional structure of the surface, reminiscent of a piece of wood washed out on the riverbank. The only prerequisite for this is that the silver lines are chosen sufficiently strong. In this Faro model, the silver layers are so thin that etching the silver in particularly thinly forged areas makes it disappear completely. For this reason, we have not etched this model. It therefore shows a wonderfully smooth surface, which is created by blasting with fine glass beads. These also densify and improve the surface.

Diamonds in Mokume Gane rings | A wonderful addition.

With the very delicate and fine pattern of the rings Faro, it offers itself for lovers:inside of brilliants very beautifully to refine some fine lines of the lady ring, or depending upon taste also the gentleman ring, with thin rows of flawless stones. The variety of thin pattern lines offers almost endless possibilities here. Here you can let your imagination run wild. Especially the wavy elements of these rings are perfect to add an extra portion of sparkle and glitter to one or the other ring.

If Mokume Gane rings are to be additionally decorated with diamonds, we attach great importance to ensuring that the actual theme, namely the natural-looking structures of the Mokume Gane, is not lost through the use of too many or too large stones. As can be seen beautifully in the Faro rings, diamonds set in the lines created blend harmoniously into the picture of the wood-like pattern. In the Mokume Gane rings shown, 32 brilliant-cut diamonds totaling 0.16 carats TW are flawlessly set in a channel setting. The stones thus encircle approximately half of the ladies' ring. For a perfect circle, about twice the amount of stones would be needed for a width of 54.

Every pair of Mokume Gane rings is unique

No matter whether you choose exactly this pair from our studio sample collection or whether we forge a completely new pair of Mokume Gane wedding rings for you, you will always receive absolutely unique pieces. Caused by the hand forging process, the layers of Mokume Gane material are deformed a little differently in each individual pair of wedding rings. So you will get rings that are very similar to these ones in the pictures, but in any case can never be the same. Of course, if you decide to have them made from scratch, you have the additional option of influencing the design process. More or less stars. Maybe one or even two lines of yellow gold, or red gold.
